A great win for Leeds last night, they started the game in 4th place taking on 3rd place Watford. On the same night 2nd place Sheffield United faced league leaders Reading.
At half time things weren’t looking good, Leeds were trailing 1-0 and hopes of automatic promotion were looking doubtful. Then in the second half after a defensive error the Watford keeper ended up being sent off and a penalty awarded to Leeds. Robbie Blake equalised for Leeds to make the score 1-1.
The equaliser must have messed up the Watford players as shortly after the penalty Watford striker Darius Henderson was sent off taking his side down to 9 men. It was now up to Leeds to overpower depleted Watford and grab all 3 points. It took some time but Leeds eventually got the winner and comfortably won the game 2-1.
What a difference a couple of red cards makes! :o)
Leeds are now 9 points behind 2nd place Sheffield United with a game in hand. Sheffield United drew against Reading, shame they didn’t loose, they even saved a late penalty to keep a valuable point. Watch out Neil Warnock! We’re coming to get you!
