Last night I stayed up to 1am playing Grand Theft Auto – very late for a school night.
The 100% mark is in sight; with only the vigilante missions and a couple of races to complete. I also need to get the high score on the arcade game in the pub. I think the latter task will prove to be the most tricky and frustrating.
I woke up this morning with what I suspect to be a broken neck. As I hadn’t been hang gliding, skiing, or riding Christopher Reeve’s horse; I can only assume that the bone was healthy, and the neck in fact not broken. I won no sympathy from my colleagues, yet had to spend the day unable turn my head to right. You’ll be pleased to know, I’m sure, that I am on the mend, and am simply putting the problem down to inadvertently sleeping in an awkward position.
I spent the evening in with my girlfriend watching trash TV – mainly Britain’s Got Talent. The only thing more worrying than the fact I found myself enjoying watching something so embarrassing was that I was actually agreeing with everything Simon Cowell said about the contestants, and on many occasions, stated my opinions before he made his identical views known.
What a waste of space the Leeds United players have shown themselves to be. Yet again they have proven they are more cowardly boys then men; freezing in front of a major crowd and bowing to their opposition. Never mind – any half decent players can leave in the summer for the higher divisions. Only the fans are left behind.
Everyone has been saying what a wonderful season Leeds United have had; and it’s true – they have played well and won a lot of games. In fact, if it weren’t for the 15 point deduction, they would be second in the league and promoted without the need for a trip to Wembley. You have to remember though, that on paper they have the best squad in the league and by far the biggest fan base and income. This is why today’s defeat is unacceptable.
If Leeds are to ever win promotion, it will have to be automatically (by finishing as champions or runners up). They have proven twice that they are incapable of playing in a cup final.
It is a sad day for the fans, but just another day for the players who will still receive their paycheque in the morning. For shame.
Congratulations to Doncaster Rovers. You deserved it. You showed heart, passion and a desire to win. Good luck next season!
After work on Friday I went to the canal, just outside of Bath. John has decided to become a water traveller, and live on a houseboat on a canal in Avoncliff. Having put the boat together from what was basically a bare frame, the decor is a bit bare and maintenance is in order – a toilet, shower, kitchen and bed also needs installing.

We went for a ride down the canal…
… saw some ducks
… before breaking down. The day ended there.
