Nearly 30 members of the IT department have taken part in a syndicate for the £100m Euromillions tonight. If we do win the jackpot, it will be interesting to see how much computer support is available on Monday morning, seeing as 28 resignations will have been handed in.
Apparently, the odds of winning the jackpot are 76,275,360/1, but seeing as we have 28 tickets, its cut down to 2,724,120/1 (unless my maths is very wrong!)
My own team also do a weekly syndicate for the National Lottery. The odds of winning that AND the Euros are 3,813,768,000,000/1 – a number so high, I don’t even know how to say it (although it probably involves trillions). Even so, I think we have every chance.

September 27, 2008 - 9:24 amI believe we won £7.40 for matching 2 numbers and 1 star.
Ironically, the winning line was on the very last ticket Julie bought. So all those moaning about late joiners to the syndicate, take note…
