As everyone’s favourite evil dictator, Hitler, found out last week, Bath City will be playing Braintree away tomorrow night.
Unfortunately, this fixture is going to have to be put on the very small list of matches I will not be attending this season.
If I was valiant enough to make the effort, I would need to be at Twerton Park by 2pm, where I would return after the game some 12 hours later. Not worth it (even for Bath City), especially as I have no annual leave or lieu time left (having booked all of Christmas off and am starting my new job in January).
Luckily my Tuesday evening will not be totally without excitement – Leeds play Kettering in the FA Cup Replay, and best of all, it’s televised. Thank you, ITV.
A final warning for those making the trip – don’t expect an enthralling victory for City. Since I have started regularly attending away games, the few matches I have missed in recent years have all been worth avoiding…
