This is an appeal to anybody who supports Leeds United Football Club, to fans or football and to those who just hate Manchester United.
This week, to celebrate their promotion to The Championship, Leeds United FC have re-released their club anthem ‘Leeds, Leeds, Leeds (Marching on Together)’
Following a campaign which has featured on Facebook and even Sky Sports News, Leeds fans are hoping for their song to get into the Top 40 next weekend and ideally No.1.
Being in the official chart will mean radio stations will have to play the record. Imagine the delight of Leeds supporters as their song is played to the world. Better still, envisage the look on the face of Manchester United scumbag, Gary Neville, when the anthem comes booming out of his car stereo.
Picture the reaction of Eamonn Holmes, who despite being Irish, feels a deep affinity with a club from Manchester, England.
Most importantly of all, do it for Saint Simon Grayson – the Football God. The man who got Leeds promoted. The man who beat the scum in their own back yard.
The song can be purchased for just a few English pence on iTunes, Play.com or Amazon.
If you need even more convincing, if Leeds don’t get to No.1, Lady Gaga will.
This afternoon is the FA Cup Final. After all the festivities of Bath City’s promotion last week, I almost forgot about it.
This year’s final sees Champions Chelsea play ‘Beleaguered Portsmouth’, in what is the financial equivalent of a billionaire who wipes his arse with £50 notes taking on a tramp who cleans his behind with his bare hands.
Of course, this is the FA Cup, so Pompey could win… but let’s face it – it isn’t going to happen. To prove this point, here is a list of events which are officially more likely to happen than Portsmouth winning the FA Cup…
– Stephen Hawking winning a goal medal at the Olympics in the Pole Vault
– David Cameron cutting VAT by 10%
– Michael Ricketts signing for Barcelona
– Winning the lottery
– An attractive person with a job appearing on The Jeremy Kyle Show
– Finding a needle in a hay stack
– England winning the World Cup…. OK, maybe that’s going too far!
This season I have…
Seen 56 games of football – 53 for Bath City
157 goals
and travelled over 6000 miles
Sadly, I won’t be going to the World Cup in South Africa, so this is where my journey for the season ends.
Expect a lot more mileage next season, with trips to Barrow and Gateshead to look forward to.
