Friday evening was Bonfire Night. Now I like fireworks, sparklers and celebrating the burning of a Catholic as much as the next man, but there’s a limit…

Saturday morning. 3am. I was sound asleep after a long, difficult week at work. I was then awoken from my slumber by a tremendous bang. I was so startled that I nearly fell out my bed.

I was then forced to lie in my bed for almost as an hour, while listening to what can only be described as ‘The Sounds of Afghanistan’. Ross Kemp was no doubt hiding in the garden, filming a documentary for Sky One.

I can only assume some of my lovely neighbours decided to hold a display of illegal fireworks in the early hours of the morning. Probably after coming back come from a night club, pissed.

Regular readers of my blog will be interested to know that the neighbour responsible for holding the fireworks display was not the same one who has previously disturbed me with their thunderous snoring. How do I know this? Well, in between explosions from a nearby garden, I could hear grunts and snorts from another noisy neighbour. How their sleep remained undisturbed during the Bombs of Baghdad, is a mystery to me.

It’s been a busy time at work lately. I also haven’t had a break since the summer. Therefore, the fact I have next week off as annual leave is as welcome as a free all you can eat restaurant in an Ethiopia desert.

Tomorrow I will be having a mini break with Claire in the romantic seaside town of Weymouth – always a popular holiday resort in November.

Tuesday afternoon we will be rushing back to Somerset for Bath City’s evening match against Hayes & Yeading United.

The rest of the week will no doubt consist of sleeping, coffee drinking, sleeping, Christmas shopping, sleeping and some sleeping.

  • About Me

So you stumbled across my blog. No doubt after searching for something bizarre on Google. Before you hit that 'Back Button', why not stay and have a read for a few minutes?

If you are after a website which gives advice on how to hack an iPhone X, download the latest Steven Seagal movie, or view nudy ladies, you've come to the wrong place and may now press 'Back'.

However, if you would like a lifestyle blog, written by a 30-something chap, living in Bath (England), feast your eyes on this.

You won't discover how to copy PlayStation 4 games. What you will find is a blog, covering life in the West Country, the highs and lows of supporting two unsuccessful football teams, while sharing a house with a wife and rabbit.

All written by a man, somewhere on the sanity-scale between normal and eccentric.
