I have been listening to Audiobooks for a few years. In that time, I have built up an impressive collection.
I get on really well with this format of book. I’m one of those people, who loves the idea of settling down with a good book – the only thing preventing me from doing this, is that I get easily distracted, so I lose track of what I was reading.
With Audiobooks, you can listen to wonderful novels, autobiographies and much more, pretty much doing whatever you like.
Here are some examples of strange and unusual places I have listened to my books…
- In the middle of the Mediterranean
- While having a poo
- In a hospital bed
- While playing the PlayStation
That’s only 4. I could add others, such ss “in bed” or “at work”, but those would be too mundane, even for me!
Seeing as I am in the mood for lists, here are my Top 10 Audiobooks. Strictly in no particular order.
- This is Going to Hurt: Secret Diaries of a Junior Doctor
Adam Kay - Around the World in Eighty Days
Jules Verne - Storyteller
Donald Sturrock - Silence of the Lambs (+ Hannibal)
Thomas Harris - Life on Air: Memoirs of a Broadcaster
David Attenborough - Confessions of a GP (+ Further Confessions)
Benjamin Daniels - The Queen and I
Sue Townsend - Around the World in Eighty Days
Michael Palin - Misery
Stephen King - The Animals of Farthing Wood
Colin Dann
